What The Kids Are Commonly Calling Done.

I have completed my project part of my personal project. It is quite scholarly and awesome. Even though it's not nearly an entire screenplay, I feel like the 9 - 11 pages that I wrote should be more than sufficient.

My First Scene. Or Part. It Might Look a Little Unorganized Because of Copy and Paste.

FROM BLACK WE HEAR:
JACOB (V.O.)
So you're saying that i shouldn't hit her?
MILES (v.o.)
I'm saying that wouldn't be one of your best ideas, no.
fade in:
int. regular bedroom
JACOB WALKER is sitting there with his friend MILES WHITE. Jacob is an above average looking kid, tall but with no particular defining characteristic. He seems to have a consistent glint in his eye, always thinking he's just that much cleverer than everyone else, which a large amount of the time he is. Whether this is arrogance or something else will be discussed.
Miles is a small kid with a wild atmosphere about him. He looks like he is ready to be outrageous and weird, simply by how he acts. Think Kramer from Seinfeld. These two enjoy carrying out odd conversations.
Music plays in the background, and the two are lounging about.
JACOB
I'm just saying, there is a strong argument to support me carrying out that action. I mean, clearly I'm not actually going to do it, I'm merely stating the fact that if I WERE to do it, I think I could successfully convince people that I did no wrong.
MILES
Convincing people is fine. Convincing the good ol' American justice system isn't quite as easy.
JACOB
She cheated on me, OK? I think I have every right to be pissed.
MILES
Which is why I never said you didn't have a right to be pissed. I'm saying that you don't have a right to cause physical harm to her.
JACOB
Which comes in handy then, because I intend to do no such thing. I have moved on. If I had the legal ability to drive, and I was in my car at this moment in time, she would be in my rearview.
MILES
Which explains the invitation you've just extended to her to come over and talk about it.
JACOB
Listen, i don't like standing girls up!
MILES
That's basically all you do. If you get bored, you leave, and usually don't even bother giving the girl a half assed excuse on why.
JACOB
I feel that's an unnecessary judgment on my character. I am affronted. So there.
MILES
I have a question. Are all girls just filler to you until you can get to Emma? Is that your battleplan?
JACOB
I would say that covers the major points of it, yes. It's slightly more subtle, but not much.
He hears Rick Ross playing.
Jacob (cont'd)
You know what I say when I listen to this? What's the appeal of Rick Ross? The dude was a prison guard and his entire MO is how he's tough and rich and hood. Am i missing something here?
MILES
Making jokes about his weight maybe?
JACOB
Nothing more?
MILES
If so, it's very subtle. Although I didn't find his part on Devil in a New Dress terrible.
JACOB
I'm not saying he's terrible, I'm merely saying he's an unnecessary addition to the genre of hip hop. But anyway, this will not be a drawn out conversation. I simply want to talk to her, make sure things are square, do it like a gentlemen, and be done.
MILES
But what exactly do you need to square up? Like do you need to get the details of her cheating on you or something? Because to me this is a pretty simple situation.
JACOB
Honestly? I wanna figure out why she did it. Just air out any feelings we had for each other and tell each other how we felt and why she cheated. That is all.
MILES
Oh, I can already tell this conversation is going to go splendid.
JACOB
Your sarcasm is unwanted. So hush.
Doorbell rings.
JACOB (CONT'D)
Well, this is what the kids are calling the moment of truth. I'll meet you back up here in a few minutes.
MILES
Sounds good. Highland Diner after this?
JACOB
You know that's right.

Exclusive Stuff Right Here. So Treat As Such.

So here's whats been happening so far. I'm most of the way through the first scene, an important one (as most first scenes are), becuase it sets up some of the main characters and some of their personalities. And just becuase I love you all so much, I will post some of this scene. Again, the style I'm going for most here is Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network), but not as good, becuase let's face it, I'm not as good. So that's what I've been working on.

A Sidenote, If You Will.

By the way, I want to put movie posters as my backgrounds to tie into the screenplay idea.

Ideas. They Are-A-Formin'.

So, here's the scoop as the kids are saying these days. I've fleshed out some beginnings to plots and have got some character outlines done. The story centers on a character named Jacob Walker, a charming high school junior who gets girls he wants, but doesn't realize the emotional damage he's doing because he doesn't really care about passion or any resemblance of romance. However, then he meets two girls that he unfortunately falls in love with at the same time. And there will be two other stories going on that haven't been full formed yet. Honestly, this is a pseudo, new school love story at it's heart, it simply has other aspects worked in. So that's what's cracking right now. And I will probably post the character outlines soon.

Titles. They-Are-A-Changin'.

My title has already changed. It is now High Society instead of Low Society. Once again, this will probably not matter as it will be changed again eventually. And, I have started doing character outlines for some of the characters which will be posted soon.
